Percival, last knight of the Round Table and aging King of Avalon, records the true origin of his kingdom as the age of kings draws to a close. Writing from the throne of Avalon in Caliburn, he reflects on how IO reshaped Camelot into a surviving but altered realm, born from the catastrophic end of Camelot. He recounts his unchosen rise to kingship after Galahad’s death, the necessity of decisive rule in a fractured reality, and the moral failures that allowed magic and prophecy to consume the old world. Acknowledging the Lady of the Lake’s brutal but necessary act that forged IO, Percival rejects comforting myths and insists that Avalon’s survival does not erase its bloody origins.
